Welcome Walter Huston

The Sunapee School District welcomes Walter Huston as its Principal of Sunapee Central Elementary School.

Walter has worked as an elementary educator in a variety of settings such as a general education teacher, a special education teacher, a curriculum coordinator and building principal. He has worked in New Hampshire and Massachusetts as well as overseas in the United Kingdom and Tanzania, East Africa, working with children in all socioeconomic levels and geographic settings.

Before joining the Sunapee team Walter was the Principal of the Barnard School, a K-8 school in South Hampton, NH. Before coming to South Hampton, he was the principal for 4 years of the J.D. Perkins, Sr. Academy of Marlow, a public PK-6 school located in Marlow, NH. Walter worked together with his staff and community to restructure the school with an integrated, project-based PK-6 curriculum that combined state standards and tenets of Education for Sustainability in order to focus on rigorous academic standards, care for the students, and developing relationships with the environment and community around them.
