April 10, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope that you are all doing well and adjusting to this new environment. We know that this is not ideal or easy for anyone; we are here to support our students, families and community.

During the remote Sunapee School Board Meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, the School Board voted to continue remote learning through the April vacation (April 20-24). This is allowing us to end school on June 11, 2020. Based on the feedback we received from our parent survey and faculty survey, the vast majority of responses agreed with this change. The NH Education Commissioner has indicated that we should be hearing by next week if the remote learning process will continue past the May 3rd evaluation day. We will keep you updated as to the status of the school year as information becomes available.

We are all working hard on our remote learning; students, teachers, staff and parents are all doing their part to make this successful for everyone involved. Please continue to communicate as needed as to how we can continue to support these efforts.

We continue to have food boxes that can be delivered to your home that offer hot and cold breakfast and lunch to children/families that have qualified for free and reduced lunch. We are also able to serve lunches to any student in our District that may want to receive a lunch. If you are interested in receiving a student lunch, please contact Robert Fullerton rfullerton@sunapeeschools.org so that we can work on the logistics of this process for the upcoming weeks.  If you have questions or concerns about additional free and reduced options, please contact Cindy Lamontagne at clamontagne@sunapeeschools.org or Robert Fullerton at rfullerton@sunapeeschools.org. If any family is struggling with food shortages, please contact either Cindy or Robert so we can assist you as well.

Remember to smile and laugh, help your neighbors, get outside and get fresh air.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
